ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Crews responded to a fatal crash in Allendale Township that shut down Lake Michigan Drive in both directions between 88th and 84th avenues Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened before 1 p.m., according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO).
We're told a 20-year-old man in an eastbound Ford sedan rear-ended a Pontiac hatchback driven by a 70-year-old Allendale woman, sending her into the path of oncoming traffic.
Deputies say a semitruck then hit the passenger's side of the Pontiac.
The Pontiac driver passed away from her injuries at the crash scene, authorities say.
Dispatchers say the road reopened shortly before 5 p.m.
