OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — Multiple vehicles were involved in a crash on I-96 near Marne late Thursday morning.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened near mile marker 21 in the westbound lanes.
We’re told the driver of a semitruck was adjusting the radio when traffic stopped before him as construction led to road congestion. Having not seen the changes in traffic flow, the driver hit a camper that was being hauled by a pickup, deputies say.
The impact reportedly caused both vehicles to jackknife and shove an SUV that had been traveling in front of the pickup.
The pickup driver sustained minor injuries in the crash, the sheriff’s office says. No other injuries were reported.
Deputies say the crash blocked traffic for more than an hour.
All lanes have reopened to traffic, according to dispatchers.
