HOLLAND, Mich. — Police in Holland are investigating the death of a man in Holland Township after shots were heard in the Falcon Woods Apartment complex.
The first calls came in around 9 p.m. leading police to an apartment on Woodview Lane near Forest Court, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO).
Once inside they found a man's body. Ottawa County deputies have since identified him as 36-year-old Shevell Shelton from Holland Township.
An autopsy confirms Shelton died of homicide by gunshot wound, according to OCSO. No one else was hurt.
Authorities are working to narrow down a suspect.
The investigation is still just beginning and the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information to contact them or Silent Observer immediately.
