GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A woman was thrown from her vehicle after loosing control and going off the road just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

The 19-year-old Byron Center woman was getting onto eastbound M-6 from westbound I-196 when her vehicle hit some ice.

The vehicle slid down the grassy hill and rolled, throwing the teen out. She was taken to Metro Hospital in serious, but stable condition.

Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor, but the crash report FOX 17 got from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office notes the young woman was not wearing a seat belt.
