SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. — South Haven Area Emergency Services resumed its search Thursday for a swimmer lost off of South Beach since Sunday.
The swimmer still hasn’t been found as of Thursday evening, according to a news release.
An investigation showed that the rescued and missing swimmers went into the water under a yellow flag warning.
Conditions deteriorated rapidly and a strong rip current carried the swimmers to an area marked by red flags.
Initial reports had said the entire beach had been under a red flag warning.
Officials urge swimmers to use extreme caution when entering any of the Great Lakes.
