FAA issues ground delay at Detroit Metro Airport amid snowy weather

(WXYZ) — The Federal Aviation Administration has now issued a ground delay to Detroit Metro Airport on Monday afternoon as snowy conditions continue.

The delay is expected to last until 11:59 p.m., with departures to DTW delayed an average of 70 minutes for runway maintenance. Flights into DTW originating in the contiguous United States are being held at their departing airport.

Earlier today, a ground stop was initiated for Delta flight departures to Detroit Metro Airport from multiple airports, but was lifted right before 8 a.m.
