GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man from the Upper Peninsula is accused of taking part in the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Karl Dresch is charged with violent entry, entering a restricted building, and obstruction of an official proceeding.
In an affidavit filed in federal court an FBI agent laid out how Dresch's own social media account was used to track him down.
A tip sent to the FBI alerted investigators to his Facebook page where Dresch made several posts from outside and inside the capitol building on January 6. Many of those posts included pictures and video.
In one post he joked about the use of tear gas by police. Dresch said, "I love masks now!"
