HINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 19-year-old male was seriously injured after a snowmobile crash early Monday morning in Mecosta County, according to a news release.
Deputies from the Mecosta County Sherrif’s Office responded just after 2 a.m. to a single snowmobile hitting a tree in Hinton Township.
The driver was transported to the Big Rapids Spectrum Health Hospital.
His injuries weren’t considered life-threatening.
He was later transported to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
Alcohol and a high rate of speed are believed to have been factors in the crash.
Deputies were assisted by Alpha 2 and Morley Rescue and Fire.
