LANSING, Mich. — The deadline for filing individual income tax returns is July 15, delayed from the usual April deadline due to the pandemic. The deadline coincides with the IRS federal return deadline.
The Michigan Department of Treasury also notes the next income tax estimated payment for individuals in the tax year 2020 is also due July 15. That payment is required of taxpayers whose income tax is not withheld from their pay.
Anyone seeking an extension on filing to October 15 still must pay what they estimate would be their tax liability by July 15.
