EVERGREEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Michigan State Police say two women are injured after being shot during a possible drug deal in Evergreen Township early Wednesday morning.

It happened shortly before 2 a.m. near the intersection of Ann and Janet Streets, not far from M-66 and Sidney Road.

MSP says two women were shot, one of whom was in critical condition until she succumbed to her injuries later in the week. The second victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers searched for a 2000 GMC pickup truck that the victims arrived in, locating it later that evening.

Police say two shooting suspects are in police custody, adding they do not believe there is any threat to the public.

Those with information in connection to the shooting are asked to call Michigan State Police at 989-352-8444.
