GREENVILLE, Mich. — Employees at Dicastal North America in Greenville evacuated the facility Monday morning, after some aluminum particles caught fire inside a furnace.
A FOX 17 crew on-scene reports that multiple fire departments reported to the plant, which has a history of damaging fires.
According to investigators, bits of aluminum inside a furnace caught fire, and were lodged inside tubing. Crews used chemical fire extinguishers to put out the flames.
Employees had to wait until the tubes cooled down before clearing the furnace. The facility suffered no damage.
