RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two men are under arrest after police say they led officers on a chase across two counties Tuesday night.

Michigan State Police says Troopers from the Lakeview Post were following up on a separate investigation at a home in Montcalm County's Richland Township, when they spotted two men in a parked car nearby. Troopers say the men had a large amount of cash, and meth.

When the Troopers went to contact them, the two took off in the truck, smashing into two vehicles, including a patrol car.

The suspects led officers down M-46 into Gratiot County. At one point the driver lost control and went into a ditch in Pine River Township. It wasn't until the suspects hit another two police cruisers that their truck was disabled.

Troopers arrested the driver, a 31-year-old from Gratiot County on charges of drug possession, fleeing police, and possession of ammunition by a felon. The passenger, a 32-year-old from Clare County, is facing a charge of drug possession.
