LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Representatives Terry Sabo (D-Muskegon) and Darrin Camilleri (D-Trenton) have introduced bills aimed at repealing the state’s Right to Work law in an effort to restore protections for workers in the public and private sectors, according to Rep. Sabo’s office.
The controversial Right to Work law was reportedly passed in 2012 without bipartisan support. We're told studies have suggested that workers earned less under that law and tended to have mediocre health and retirement benefits.
“As a retired firefighter and police officer belonging to a public sector union, I believe Michigan workers deserve a stronger voice and more protections for their wages and benefits,” says Representative Sabo. “These bills will help improve the lives of Michigan’s working families and the communities they live in.”
