KERRVILLE, TX. — A Jenison family faced an unexpected winter in Texas when they visited Buckhorn Lake Resort.
Scott and Deb Hasper normally spend the majority of their winter in Kerrville, Texas and return to Michigan in April.
“I did go out one day right after it snowed because I wanted to see what it was like out there and it was really nothing more than a typical winter, Michigan day," Scott Hasper said. "But down here, these people don’t know how to deal with it and there’s no snow plows or salt trucks or anything.”
The couple faced power outages and lack of groceries increasing their hardships.
“We went to the grocery store after the storm hit when it finally opened and there was nothing in the coolers. Absolutely nothing, no eggs, no milk, no juice, no meats, nothing,” Hasper said.
The Haspers will return to Michigan in April.
