Bronson man dies in crash with semi-truck

BRONSON TWP., — A 58-year-old Bronson man died early Monday evening after an accident with a Semi driver.

Branch County Sheriff Deputies arrived on scene just before 5 p.m. near the intersection of West Chicago Road and Bawden Road in Bronson Township.

The 58-year-old man had pulled out of a business heading westbound on Chicago Rd. before swerving left of the center line and striking an eastbound Semi tractor trailer head on.

The semi driver, a 47-year-old man from Indiana, attempted to swerve off the roadway, but was unable to avoid colliding with the Bronson man's pickup truck.

In the accident, the 58-year-old man ended up getting pinned under his truck.

Bronson Fire/Rescue Officers and paramedics tried to free the Bronson man from the wreckage of the pickup, and upon getting him out, he was pronounced dead on scene.

The fatal accident remains under Investigation by Branch County Sheriff Deputies.
