ST. JOSEPH, Mich. — The St. Joseph Department of Public Safety is working to identify a woman after her body was found in Lake Michigan.
Officers were called around 6 p.m. to Tiscornia Beach after someone nearby saw a body floating in the lake. Police say the woman is about 55 years old and matches the description of a missing person out of Chicago.
Her body was taken for an autopsy at Western Michigan University. There wasn’t any trauma to her body.
Police say she will be identified through dental records and DNA at a later date.
