LEONIDAS TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 47-year-old Colon man is facing home invasion and firearms charges after being apparently caught in the act Tuesday of breaking into a residence in Leonida Township northeast of Mendon in St. Joseph County.
When deputies arrived at the home on Pleasant Road west of Summit Road, they found the suspect and determined that he had broken into the home, stolen some items including two firearms, tried out some beer from the homeowner’s refrigerator, and turned on the TV.
He now faces home invasion, larceny, and firearms charges, all felonies.
