CONSTANTINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — At least one person is dead following a crash on US-131 Wednesday afternoon.
Michigan State Police (MSP) says the crash, which involved two vehicles, happened at Dickinson Road in Constantine Township.
It was a head-on collision, troopers say.
A 39-year-old woman was driving south on US 131, when her car slammed into a pick-up truck.
Witness told troopers the pick-up was passing multiple vehicles in a no-passing zone.
The woman, who troopers say was from Three Rivers, was declared dead on scene.
The pick-up driver was identified as a 59-year-old man from Owosso.
A witness pulled the man from his burning vehicle, troopers say, and he was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
The northbound and southbound lanes were closed for about four hours, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).
The St Joseph County Sheriff's Department, the White Pigeon Fire Department, and the Constantine Fire Department, and Life Care Ambulance Services assisted state troopers at the scene.
This crash is still under investigation.
