LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Prosecutor for St. Joseph County is accused of driving drunk after a crash Monday night near Three Rivers.

The Sheriff's Office says they responded to the crash on Lovers Lane, and found the black Jeep parked off the road. Both the vehicle and a chain link fence were damaged.

"I just heard the screeching of almost like a fence dragging," said witness Ashlee Alexander. "And that's when we looked outside and saw them out there. And then my husband was about to go over there to see, you know, if everybody was OK."

Deputies arrested John McDonough for operating while intoxicated, and having an open container of alcohol inside a motor vehicle.

McDonough was lodged in the Cass County Jail. He's not expected to be formally charged until later this month.
