SOUTH HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The driver of a pickup truck hauling a trailer managed to avoid serious injury after losing control of the vehicle Tuesday.
Pictures show the annihilated trailer near the overpass on I-196 at the M-140 exit. The driver was heading north on the highway just before 9 p.m. when it began to go off course. It slid along the bridge supports for a few hundred feet scattering debris along the road.
The northbound side of the road was disrupted for a while during clean-up, but there were no other injuries or vehicles involved.
The South Haven Area Emergency Services cleaned up the scene to get traffic flowing again and took the driver to Bronson-South Haven Hospital for treatment. The crash is still under investigation.
