COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A man was arrested Tuesday after authorities say he parked his vehicle in the road and fell asleep at the wheel.

Van Buren County deputies were called around 4:40 a.m. to County Road 384 near 50th Street in Columbia Township, near Grand Junction. When they arrived, the man was still sleeping in the vehicle.

Authorities say he woke up after a few minutes but was uncooperative with deputies’ commands to step out of the vehicle. Deputies ended up using a stun gun on the 19-year-old Hudsonville man to take him into custody.

Authorities said the an had a pistol in his front pocket at the time of his arrest. He was taken to the Van Buren County Jail for resisting and obstructing arrest and carrying a concealed weapon.
