SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. — A South Haven ice cream shop is set to reopen its doors this spring after renovations to the interior and exterior.
Sherman's Dairy Bar will open May 1 at its 1601 Phoenix St. location with new signs and a refreshed space.
The store began as a dairy in 1916 and shifted to producing ice cream in the 1950s. Its retail location opened in South Haven in 1958, when ice cream cones were served for a nickel.
Sherman’s ice cream is sold in shops and restaurants from Grand Rapids to South Bend and Chicago.
