GENEVA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Three people died Monday afternoon in a rear-end crash at a rural intersection in Van Buren County.
Deputies called to the scene around 2 p.m. just north of Lacota, Mich., found all three occupants of two vehicles were already dead at the intersection of Baseline Road and 60th Street in Geneva Township.
In reconstructing what happened, investigators determined that an SUV was eastbound on Baseline Road stopping at the stop sign at 60th Street when a passenger car slammed into the SUV at high speed.
The occupants were a man from Illinois, 46, a woman from Grand Junction, Mich., 59, and another woman from Grand Junction, 86.
