Residents looked around, but darkness and rain interfered with their efforts.

The crash took place on M-40 Porter Highway south of Shaw Road near Cedar Lake.

It’s believed a 65-year-old man from the Three Rivers area was riding at high speed when he went off the road and hit a post and a tree.
