MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. — New this summer, The Mackinac House is now open on Market Street on Mackinac Island.
Just one street over from the main downtown stretch, guests relaxing on the expansive hotel porch, or one of the four hotel balconies, will be able to watch horse drawn carriages trot by.
Once inside, the cozy cottage has many modern touches, it's the first ever boutique hotel on the island.
Newly renovated, each of the 19 bedrooms has a different eclectic feel.
Your room may have solid blue, leopard print, or even pony print wallpaper. Each room style is different, but what remains the same is the modern gold framed mirrors, and crisp architecture.
Co-owners of the Mackinac House, Bob Benser and Andrew Doud, spent 3 1/2 years making this hotel a reality.
