SPRING LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — More than two months after 6-year-old Iain Rowe died in Ottawa County, his mother is being charged with child neglect.
On June 6, Iain went into Lake Michigan at Holland State Park. His body was found by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office Dive Team the next day near the Holland Channel.
Officials had said there were red flag water conditions the day the boy went missing.
After investigating the incident, officials announced Thursday that a charge of child neglect in the 3rd degree was authorized against Iain's mother, Miranda Rowe.
Rowe, 33, turned herself into Holland District Court where she pleaded guilty to the felony charge. At this time, she remains free on bond.
