Gun Lake Casino to temporarily close due to Coronavirus concerns

WAYLAND, Mich. — The Gun Lake Tribal Council decided to temporarily close the Gun Lake Casino in order to protect public and employees against spread of COVID-19.

Through an anonymous tip, FOX 17 was told the Tibal Council is making the decision to close the Casino at 3 a.m. on Monday, March 16th. The tip was confirmed by the tribe shortly after.

“Protecting the health and safety of our guests and team members is of utmost importance and our main priority. While there is no requirement to close, we believe in doing our part to prevent of the spread of the Coronavirus,” said Sal Semola, president and chief operating officer for Gun Lake Casino.

Gun Lake Casino team members will continue to be fully paid during this time as if on "paid-leave status".

The closure will only be from March 16th to March 30th at this time, but the Gun Lake Tribe says they will continue to monitor the situation and update the public as more information becomes available. Updates on the closure can be found at GunLakeCasino.com
