ALLENDALE, Mich. — Grand Valley State University is canceling classes for the rest of the week and will switch to online classes through March 29.

Students who live on campus are encouraged to return to their permanent homes as soon as possible. GVSU’s housing department will help students who do not have somewhere to go stay by providing housing and food on campus during the change.

Campus will remain open and operating for GVSU employees. Staff will receive updates from Provost Maria Cimitile with instructions to convert their lessons to remote teaching.

Events of more than 100 people are canceled at least through March 29. GVSU-sponsored international has been suspended through the end of March and domestic travel for school business.
