COOPERSVILLE, Mich — A well-known charity that helps people with mobility issues has reached a major milestone.
Lori's Voice has now given away a million dollars in grants to help children with special needs.
The charity was founded in 2011 by Dave Hastings and his wife, Lori, who was diagnosed with Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy as a child.
Since its inception, Lori's Voice has grown with the number of volunteers who help out, as well as the amount of monies being granted.
The organization hosts several charitable events each year including Lori's Walk for the Challengedand has donated special wheelchairs to local beaches. Through its charity work, Lori's Voice has been recognized by multiple agencies, including the Better Business Bureau.
