GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Rep. Peter Meijer, R-Grand Rapids will vote to impeach President Donald Trump Wednesday.
The freshman congressman joined Rep. Fred Upton, R-St. Joseph as one of seven House Republicans to publicly announce their intention to support impeaching President Trump after last week’s attack on the Capitol.
In a statement released on Twitter, Meijer said, “President Trump betrayed his oath of office by seeking to undermine our constitutional process, and he bears responsibility for inciting the insurrection we suffered last week. With a heavy heart, I will vote to impeach.”

Meijer has been heavily critical of the President, accusing him of inciting the violence with lies about the election.
