LANSING, Mich. — After winning 66 percent of the vote, Meshawn Maddock will become the co-chair of the Michigan Grand Old Party, joining chairman Ron Weiser.
Weiser has been re-elected for his third term as chair of the Michigan Republican Party.
The elections were held virtually today, as Weiser beat out Laura Cox, who previously served as chairman after being elected in 2019.
"Meshawn and I are honored and excited to lead the party over the next two critical years," Weiser said in a statement following the elections. "Our overwhelming victory today is just the beginning. The beginning of our road to victory in 2022. The beginning of a better, brighter future for our children, for our families."
In addition to victories from Maddock and Weiser, Paul Stephens was elected Youth Vice-Chair, Tami Carlone was elected Coalitions Vice-Chair, Marian Sheridan was elected Grassroots Vice-Chair, and Diane Schindlbeck was elected administrative vice-chair.
