GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — If you need to get a COVID-19 test, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has launched new resources for those looking for testing locations.
Just the week, MDHHS launched its newest service through the Michigan 2-1-1 line. Anyone can call 2-1-1 and learn their closest testing location and schedule an appointment.
“We know that it’s very important to test as many people as possible because that’s the way we can identify whether there is COVID-19 spread in a particular community or to trace it back to a particular event or gathering," said Bob Wheaton, Public Information Officer with MDHHS.
You can also access resources at https://www.michigan.gov/CORONAVIRUS. Online, you can find your nearest test site while also adding filters such as which locations have no cost, no doctor ordered needed, or for those who are uninsured.
You can also reach the coronavirus hotline at 888-535-6136.
