ZEELAND, Mich. — ZEHS and ZWHS will be closed on Thursday and Friday following “a potentially large exposure” to coronavirus, according to Zeeland Public Schools.
ZPS says they have cooperated with the Ottawa County Department of Public Health, placing more than 200 students and staff members in quarantine. As a result, both schools will be closed through Friday, Nov. 6. Classes will be conducted remotely all next week.
In the meantime, efforts will be taken to employ contact-tracing procedures and to minimize the spread of the virus. Extracurricular activities will proceed for those not under quarantine.
Zeeland High Schools and county health officials will contact those requiring quarantine within the next 24 hours.
