GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The city of Grand Rapids and a group of community partners are launching a social media campaign today to help support local businesses during the holiday shopping season.
They're asking people to self-record videos of themselves safely shopping at a locally owned business and then challenge three of their friends to do the same.
People can also share from the campaign’s graphics, which are available in English and Spanish, and the campaign's hashtags: #SupportOurGRBiz; #ApoyaNuestrosNegociosGR; #IAmIn; and #cuentaconmigo
“This has been a difficult year for all of us, including our local businesses,” Grand Rapids Mayor Rosalynn Bliss said. “As we enter the holiday season and start buying gifts for those we care about, I invite you to join me in supporting our Grand Rapids businesses. They have always been here for us, and now we can step up to be there for them.”
