EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Hours after announcing several COVID-19 cases, East Grand Rapids High School says it is temporarily going all virtual.
The district notified families tonight the high school will be fully virtual "as a precautionary measure" on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27.
The announcement was made by East Grand Rapids Public Schools in a letter to families by Superintendent Heidi Kattula.
After reporting in another letter today that two students and a coach have COVID-19, Kattula says the district learned tonight a third student has the virus, and other students are "awaiting test results."

The district will now conduct contact tracing on the third student case and "gain clarity" from families waiting on test results, Kattula says. Contract tracing was completed for the other two student cases and the coach's case.
All extracurricular activities and practices are on hold until "all close contacts are identified."
