(WXMI) — Blitz Preview: Whitehall clashes with Unity Christian in Game of the Week.
"You always look forward to the opener. You know, since January you've been trying to get guys motivated and focused on what's ahead of them. So it's pretty exciting. It's fun to see. They're excited too, it's fun to see that. It's an important thing to these guys," Unity Chrisitan head coach Craig Tibbe.
"I think anytime we have a week one, I mean all we've done is practice. We've been doing that since obviously July when it comes to all of our camps and everything. I think there's anticipation for everybody, ourselves included. Everyone right now, we're starting with a lot of hopes and dreams and aspirations to have a great season. We're no different from that, but we also know too that when we play Hudsonville Unity Christian that it's really going to be a playoff atmosphere," Whitehall head coach Tony Sigmon.
"I'm very excited and I think our team is too. Last year, big down year for us, especially as a program. Worst record in many years but we've been all working really hard and we're ready to get back to where we were," Unity Christian running back Nolan Vis.
"I mean we'll see where we stand. I mean, this is a good test for us. First game, you know what I mean? We lost a lot of guys and had a lot of new guys step up so I think we're going to figure ourselves out," Whitehall quarterback Cam Thompson.
