EAST LANSING, Mich. — Tri-Unity Christian falls to Munising 39-37 in the division four state championship game. The Defenders end the season as the state runner-up.

Tri-Unity Christian shot just 31% percent from the field (14-45) and turned the ball over 15 times.

"They had good interior defense so we relied on the three and them now falling was big," Tri-Unity Christian junior Jordan VanKlompenberg said.

VanKlompenberg led the Defenders with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Senior Roy Fogg added 11 points and 7 rebounds, Akais Giplaye finished with 13 rebounds.

"My first year here I couldn't have asked for a better coaching staff, a better team," Fogg said. "They really treated me like family. It was amazing to be able to step in and just click basically with the team."

Fogg was the only Defenders senior that played in Saturday's championship game.

"Just the way they played together," Tri-Unity Christian head coach Mark Keeler said about what he will remember about this year's team. "I was just happy with the way they shared the ball and played together, how positive they we with each other."
