GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Despite Noah Herfhaft making over 30 saves through the first two periods for Grand Rapids Christian, Forest Hills Northern-Eastern was able to keep the pressure applied.
Eli Howe would get the Bird Dogs on the board with a powerplay goal in the second period before Hector Cumming followed that up just seconds later with a goal of his own to make it 2-0.
In the third period, Cam Cain would score before Leo Tilly scored the empty netter and Cumming added the exclamation point as Northern-Eastern comes out with the 5-1 win.
The Bird Dogs improve to 4-1 on the season with eight points in the Baum Division to take sole possession of first early in the season.
