HOLLAND, Mich. — Byron Center got a late goal from Nik Schepers to beat West Ottawa 4-3 and win a division regional championship in hockey Wednesday.

"To be honest with you, I thought about it right before I went out for my shift," Schepers said. "I remember saying a small prayer and just it coming true after I net that one over his shoulder. So I don't even know how to feel right now. I'm so happy right now. This is our second (championship) in four or five years, so going back-to-back right now is just a surreal feeling."

The Bulldogs advance to the state quarterfinals to play Reeths-Puffer on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Ferris State.
