GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — East Grand Rapids and Rockford were tied up, 12-12 at halftime, not the end of the first quarter. It certainly was a low-scoring affair on Friday night at Aquinas College with the Pioneers coming away with the 37-25 victory. Jack Sheridan led the way with 12 points for East.
"That's one of our biggest goals," Sheridan said about the team defense, "we want to keep teams under ten points each quarter and we kept them to twelve in the first half."
The Pioneers improve to 3-1 overall and will face Grand Rapids Catholic Central in the Legends Invational championship on Saturday at 7:30 pm inside the Sturrus Center.
