GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Forest Hills Northern-Eastern stunned Forest Hills Central on December 28. The Bird Dogs trailed 2-1 at the end of the second period and were heavily outshot before coming away with a 3-2 win. However, on Saturday, the Rangers got their revenge, winning 3-1 at Patterson Ice Arena.

"It's huge for us," senior forward Cole Beaufait said, "we need to try and win conference and it's been a long time since we've beaten them. It feels great."

Beaufait scored two goals in the Ranger victory.

"We had to start out strong, we haven't been that good at starting games and tonight, we came out and started hard, it showed," he added.

The Rangers take control of the OK Conference Baum division after the victory.

"It's huge, rivalries are awesome and we're also competing for the conference championship," head coach Kevin Zaschak said, "if we win out, we win the conference. Tonight was huge, if we would have lost, we would have given it to them so we needed this win badly."
