BYRON CENTER, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Catholic Central hockey team had already wrapped up the Rue division title before its game with Byron Center because Grandville had lost earlier in the day, but the Cougars scored five goals in the the third period to pull out a 6-4 win over Byron Center.

"It was great especially celebrating this good night after three years for me," senior Ben Clay, who scored the game-winnign goal, said. "For a couple of people, this was great. It felt good to win the conference on senior night. Just leads us into a good playoff run, one at a time we just won the conference and now it's onto regionals and hopefully we can make a big run."

Part of Catholic Central's five third period goals was a natural hat trick from sophomore Grant Coykendall.
