The Grand Rapids Christian volleyball team will get a chance at a three-peat!
The Eagles knocked off Cadillac Thursday in a division two state semifinal, 3-0, to advance to a third straight state final.
GRC has been wearing a bullseye all year as the two-time defending champ, but they say they thrive off it.
"I think a lot of people expect a lot from us and some of us bring that on," junior Evie Doezema who had a game-high 19 kills against Cadillac said about the pressure that comes with being two-time defending state champs. "That helps us, that fires us up. We love the competition, we love that target because we just feel empowered and we love to fight."
Senior Addie VanderWeide added 18 kills for the Eagles.
The division two state final is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday at Kellogg Arena.
