BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The Lakewood volleyball team made it look easy on Thursday in a division two state semifinal win over Pontiac Notre Dame Prep, beating the Fighting Irish in three games.
The Vikings were led by junior Maradith O'Gorman who had a game-high 21 kills, her sister Aubrey added 11 kills.
Lakewood will play Grand Rapids Christian in the division two final, the same team it lost to in last year's championship game.
"We have to come in with the mindset that we have to play our best game," Maradith O'Gorman said. "Christian, I would love to play them again because they are a fun team to play all around because every single player is good so it just gives you a fight instead of it being an easy final game and I really enjoy that."
The division two state championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Kellogg Arena.
