KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Lowell wrestling program dominated Gaylord, 53-4 in the Division 2 state championship match on Saturday afternoon at Wings Event Center. The win gives the Red Arrows a seventh consecutive state championship.
"LLowell is by far the best place to live in the state of Michigan," six year head coach R.J. Boudro said, "we have a great youth program, we have great coaches. Our coaching staff is second to none, our kids believe from five years old and our coaching staff believes in them, it's a ton of hard work and it feels so good to raise another trophy."
In the 189 weight class, Jacob Hough came away with the win to cap off his senior season with another state title.
"I'm estatic right now," Hough added, "it's my senior year, I'm so glad, we wrestled our hearts out, it's a great feeling."
