EAST LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan High School Athletic Association has suspended all its winter season tournaments indefinitely due to COVID-19 concerns.
MHSAA will provide further updates Thursday but said this is a pause in the postseason.
Earlier Thursday, MHSAA had announced it was restricting attendance at events through the weekend. Hours later, all tournaments were suspended.
Decisions on whether to hold spring sports are being made at a local level.
In Rockford, school officials have suspended all spring games until further notice but will still practice.
Parents with questions or concerns should contact their local officials. Further updates on the winter tournaments will be provided on MHSAA’s website.
