STANTON, Mich. — Central Montcalm High School has been enjoying success on many athletic platforms recently.

"Going into every sport, every team has confidence," senior forward Gunner Hill, who also plays football and baseball, said. "With all the success that we have had in the past seasons because that really helps you when you are all doing good and you are used to winning, you don't want to lose so you push way harder to win."

"It is an immense help for sure," senior shooting guard Asher Vissman said. "We have a bunch of guys that are used to winning now and it wasn't like that before and it is now and we are just going to keep it rolling in basketball."

The boys basketball team entered Tuesday at 3-0 on the season with several members also participating in basketball and football.

The baseball team set the school record for wins last spring and the football team won the Central State Gold division in the fall and made the playoffs.

"It is huge," Seventh year head coach Dan Basom said. "The snowball got rolling kind of last year in 2019. It was funny our local paper dubbed it the year of the Hornet and we just want to maintain the momentum. A lot of these kids are 2 and 3 sports athletes and you can tell that winning has become kind of a culture here."

Central Montcalm plays a big CSAA Gold division game at Fremont (2-0, 5-0) on Friday.
