WEST MICHIGAN — The forecast from FOX 17 Meteorologist Haleigh Vaughn: Scattered snow showers fall over West Michigan tonight as temperatures tumble and the winds pick up. Brisk winds from the southwest are anticipated overnight and all day on Friday. Lake effect snow is likely to fall on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with temperatures near 30 degrees. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued for Allegan, Lake, Mason, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana and Ottawa until 7 a.m. Saturday morning. Between Friday to Sunday, we're expecting preliminary snowfall totals to add up between 1 to 3 inches per day. That would add up to about 3 to 6 inches over the three day span, with some isolated spots getting heavier snow, around 8 inches. A few flurries are possible on Monday, with a better opportunity for snow showers on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
