Severe T-storms sweep across southwest MI

WEST MICHIGAN — Severe thunderstorms are making their way across southwest Michigan Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Most of the main threat has passed; however, Calhoun County remains under a severe thunderstorm warning until 1:30 a.m.

Flood warnings have been issued in Kalamazoo and Van Buren counties until 3 a.m.

A tornado warning was issued for Berrien County but has since expired.

The Lansing area is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 5 a.m.

A staggering 5,800 lightning strikes have been recorded in this system as of 11:52 p.m. For your safety, please stay away from windows.
