Pinewood Park, a playground located in Kentwood, caught fire around 1 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.
By the time firefighters arrived on the scene it was almost a total loss.
Investigators are investigating the fire as suspicious, now the city and neighbors with kids are hoping to re-build.
“All I could think about was all the people who put the hard work and the sweat to build this, it’s a sad day for Kentwood,” said area resident Charlie Ziesemer.
The city will be looking at finances and insurance coverage on Monday, fire officials say they will have the investigation wrapped by next week.

I helped build that when I was younger….sad to see that happen
